Our journey begins in Biertan where we will visit two painting and sculpture workshops famous for this area. From there we will continue to Richiș where we will visit the carpentry and carpentry workshops of Christian Rummel, a Saxon who left many years ago, determined to revive the old crafts. In Alma Vii, we will have a traditional lunch and in Moşna we will visit one of the most beautiful eco households in this area.
We begin our foray into the world of ancient Saxon crafts in one of the oldest Saxon settlements in Transylvania - Biertan. We will visit the fortified fortress together and discover the legends that hide behind its walls.
We stay in Biertan and we will visit the painting and sculpture workshop of the local artist Ion Constantinescu. His works perfectly reflect the life and traditions of this area!
Our next stop in our expedition in order to discover the old Transylvanian crafts takes place in the village of Richiș. Here we will visit the workshop of Christian Rummel, a young man who at the age of 22 decided to leave his native Germany and move to Transylvania. Here, he managed to bring back to life an old carpentry workshop where he creates real works of art, using old Saxon customs.
After so much work we must receive the reward! This comes in the form of a traditional Transylvanian lunch at one of the most well-kept households in these places. Here we will take part in a traditional Transylvanian lunch that will include the dishes that make Transylvanian cuisine famous all over the world. We finish the meal with a brandy, a wine or a glass of natural homemade syrup.
We do not end our journey in the world of Transylvanian crafts without a visit to one of the most beautiful households in this region. Here we will discover the process of preparing the cheese, we will find out how to prepare the jars of pickles and jam, and we will taste several organic dishes made right at this farm.
